Common Question: Where does milk come from?

1/25/2016

It seems like common knowledge that milk comes from cows, but I hear this question over and over again in the classroom among kindergarten students. Today, one girl thought that milk came from a cows "gina"...which is a disturbing thought. In another school, a boy thought it came from the cows "weenie". So we are aware that most dairy milk comes from cows, but how? Let me clarify.

If your students do not know where dairy milk comes from, I found this friendly, simple video geared towards children on how the cows and dairy farmers produce milk.

And no...chocolate milk does not come from brown cows.
